Participation in FHIR Interoperability Test: Promoting Standardization of Medical Information Exchange at the Hospital

The hospital participated in the 5th FHIR Medical Information Interoperability Test, organized by the Taiwan Medical Imaging Information Standards Association (MISAT), from September 3 to 6, 2024. The goal of this interoperability test was to exchange electronic medical record information using the FHIR format. Specific data items included basic demographic information, as well as electrocardiogram (ECG) and various laboratory values. The experience gained through this test participation is expected to help further promote the standardization process for medical data and contribute to improving the accuracy of data exchange. This represents a crucial effort toward enhancing interoperability in electronic medical record systems and medical information systems within Taiwan. By participating in this test, the hospital established a process for exchanging medical records using FHIR format, achieving both data standardization and accurate transmission. This achievement is expected to strengthen the overall data management system of the hospital and marks an important step toward improving interoperability in the healthcare IT sector.
