Ministry of Digital Affairs Hosts Medical AI/HIS Exchange: Promoting Smart Health through Public-Private Cooperation

The Ministry of Digital Affairs (MOPA) hosted the '2025 DEMO DAY Medical AI and HIS System Exchange' at Kaohsiung Asia Bay Innovation Park to explore upgrading medical information systems (HIS) and integrating AI. The event brought together dozens of entities, including central government agencies, local governments, multiple AI service providers, universities, and medical associations. Deputy Director Lin Yijing emphasized that proving success in the Taiwanese market is crucial, stressing that companies need long-term stable demand rather than just government subsidies. Eight companies, such as Datong Medical and Bairui Medical, participated, showcasing practical smart healthcare solutions including FHIR EHR system applications, generative AI for medical record drafting, and bone density/muscle mass analysis. Notably, the self-regulation nerve testing device from Lidaishangyi features functions like psycho-physical stress analysis and AI stroke prevention, already used in multiple hospitals. The event addressed major challenges facing healthcare systems—such as data fragmentation and process inefficiency—by presenting practical solutions like integrated HIS systems and edge computing, thereby establishing a platform for collaboration among government bodies, medical institutions, and private enterprises.
