Details

The "MedInfo 2025" conference, spearheaded by the Taiwan Medical Informatics Association, is a major academic event scheduled for August 9-13, 2025, at the Taipei International Convention Center. This global gathering of medical informatics and health technology is a significant milestone as it marks the first time such an event is held in Taiwan since its inception. The conference is co-organized by the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) and the Taiwan Medical Informatics Association (TAMI), expecting over 1,000 participants from nearly 60 countries and receiving over 1,000 submissions. The theme is "Healthcare Smart X Medicine Deep," focusing on AI and digital transformation. A key highlight is the participation of international leaders from major standardization bodies, including Stan Huff (LOINC), Daniel Vreeman (FHIR Foundation Chair & HL7 International Data Officer), and Don Sweete (SNOMED International Executive Director). These experts will share knowledge through lectures and panel discussions. The conference plans to showcase Taiwan's practical experience in medical information standardization, particularly through sessions like the "AI and Medical Data Standard Integration Application Forum," where real-world experiences with standards such as FHIR and SNOMED CT will be shared. By doing so, Taiwan aims to strengthen its role in building data interoperability and trust across the Asia-Pacific region, leveraging its experience in 'Smart Hospitals' and digital health transformation.
