Taiwan Hosts Contest for 50 Excellent SMART on FHIR Applications to Advance Healthcare Data Structuring

The Ministry of Health and Welfare's Information Department is organizing the 'Taiwan 50 Excellent SMART on FHIR Application Contest' (臺灣50優良SMART on FHIR應用程式徵案). The primary goal is to advance the structuring of medical data in Taiwan and align it with international standards. The event will feature exchanges, seminars, and practical workshops led by founders of the SMART on FHIR platform and domestic experts. It aims for participants—especially healthcare IT vendors—to fully understand the operational principles of SMART on FHIR and join the growing SMART Apps ecosystem. Key agenda points include: 1) International experiences and opportunities for promoting SMART on FHIR; 2) Analysis of Taiwan's policy roadmap and clinical application case studies; and 3) Driving a SMART on FHIR contest to establish a smart healthcare app ecosystem in Taiwan. The event is scheduled for October 14, 2025 (Tuesday), at the Shili Convention Center. The schedule includes an international seminar in the morning and a workshop in the afternoon. Attendance is encouraged for personnel from departments such as IT departments, medical information departments, and medical record departments.
