Visiting Yuan-Yuan Medical System, Representative of the Ministry of Health's 'Healthy Taiwan Deep Cultivation Plan'

Yuan-Yuan Medical System has expanded its capacity by deeply rooting itself in the community and successfully transforming into an acute/critical care hospital. It developed a blueprint for a smart hospital and implemented ESG strategies. Due to these initiatives, it was selected as one of two demonstration hospitals nationwide this year. The director presented extensive achievements since establishing the catheterization center, along with specialized departments like GERD centers and wound treatment centers. In smart healthcare, AI was introduced for image diagnosis (lung cancer reading), and the low-dose CT screening AI assistance system has accumulated over 20,000 cases. Furthermore, systems such as fall detection, bed exit alarms, and thermal imaging monitoring were implemented to reduce human input errors and documentation burden. Additionally, a real-time data integration platform was built, consolidating vital signs, test results, image information, and medical records. This platform is used by AI models and Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS), and the adoption of FHIR standard ensures secure interoperability of data between internal and external systems. Beyond these technologies, Yuan-Yuan developed and operated three major proprietary AI smart systems with the goal of 'giving time back to patients.' Through this visit, they aim to learn and exchange knowledge with hospital partners across Taiwan, ensuring that the core values of medicine are realized for every patient.
