Deadline for 'Taiwan 50 Excellent SMART on FHIR Applications' Extended to Jan 30, Year 115; Adjustments Announced

The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) Information Department announced adjustments to the application guidelines for the 'Taiwan 50 Excellent SMART on FHIR Applications' program, responding to feedback from various sectors and the need for more preparation time due to year-end business demands. Consequently, the original deadline (December 31, Year 114) has been extended to January 30, Year 115. The key changes include adjusting the trial period requirement: it is no longer a mandatory '6-month free trial' but rather an optional scoring item, aiming not to impede existing commercial product development. Furthermore, to encourage wider adoption of excellent applications, in addition to extending the deadline, the department will launch guidance services for SMART application packaging. This initiative aims to lower the technical barrier for developers and achieve the goal of gathering high-quality products. Applications already submitted can be re-evaluated regarding trial periods and resubmitted; the final submission content will serve as the basis for registration.
