At the 1st 'Taiwan 50 Excellent SMART Application Awards Ceremony and SMART SUMMIT International Forum,' held by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Da Tong Medical won the Grand Prize in the 'Data Visualization Category' for its FHIR ONE product. This recognition is highly significant for promoting digital transformation within the medical system, positioning 'Taiwan 50' as a new milestone in smart healthcare. The MOHW has been actively promoting the adoption of the SMART on FHIR architecture since 2025. The core goal is to break the historical deadlock of information silos in the medical system. By utilizing FHIR, it aims to unify 'data, rules, and applications,' allowing medical apps to be truly 'plug-and-play' across different hospitals, similar to smartphone applications. The winning product, FHIR ONE, has been implemented in major institutions such as National Taiwan University Hospital, Jiaji, and Hualien Tzu Chi. It significantly reduces the time physicians spend reviewing patient histories by converting fragmented medical records into intuitive visual charts. Zhang Zhiwei, CEO of Da Tong Medical, emphasized that this award is not merely an affirmation of development capability but a declaration to the industry that 'Da Tong Medical is undergoing comprehensive transformation.' The company plans to fully embrace the FHIR international standard and transition into a provider of a new generation 'Smart Healthcare Standardization Solution Platform.' By offering SMART applications with high compatibility and flexibility, they aim to help medical institutions achieve system upgrades at lower conversion costs. This allows healthcare personnel to be freed from burdensome administrative tasks and system operations, contributing to the creation of a patient-centric smart healthcare ecosystem. This development suggests that Da Tong Medical plans to expand its influence beyond Taiwan, responding to global acceleration in digital healthcare transformation and promoting Taiwan's smart healthcare capabilities internationally.
