Yuanrong Hospital's 'Smart Order System' Selected as Taiwan's Excellent SMART App

The Yuanrong Medical System developed the 'Intelligent Ordering System' (APOE), which integrates AI technologies such as speech recognition, natural language processing, and data analysis. During patient consultations, the system captures audio in real-time, organizing conversations using dual transcription and speaker separation technology. Furthermore, it references the patient's past medical history and test results to automatically generate personalized SOAP structured medical records based on the doctor's clinical logic, while also recommending medications and examination items. The system utilizes the international standard SMART on FHIR architecture, allowing for seamless integration with existing Hospital Information Systems (HIS) without requiring major overhauls. It has been implemented in departments like chest medicine, gastroenterology, and cardiology, accumulating over 3,000 medical records to validate its clinical practicality. The core challenge addressed is the interoperability issue—the fragmentation of electronic medical record systems across different hospitals. By operating on this standardized platform, the system demonstrates how regional hospitals can achieve AI utilization at the ground level while contributing to nationwide medical information linkage. Yuanrong Hospital plans to leverage these achievements to contribute to Taiwan's smart healthcare ecosystem, aligning with national policies for FHIR standardization in electronic records.
