Information service provider Puhong, in collaboration with medical information expert Sitata, developed the 'FHIR Smart Medical Device' series, compliant with HL7 FHIR standards. The product was piloted at Kaohsiung Redivision Hospital to meet next-generation digital healthcare platform requirements and enhance data security.
Details
Puhong developed this product in response to the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s push for a 'Next-Generation Digital Healthcare Platform' and the international standardization of medical data via HL7 FHIR. The 'FHIR Smart Medical Device' series integrates Puhong's proprietary, Taiwan-manufactured Hardware Security Module (HSM), achieving FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certification. This makes it a critical tool for strengthening core data protection across the healthcare, government, and financial sectors. According to Chairman Lin Qungguo, the device ensures that sensitive medical records maintain 'financial-grade' protection during exchange. The successful implementation at Kaohsiung Redivision Hospital realizes a next-generation architecture enabling 'medical data sharing and plug-and-play application,' significantly lowering the digital transformation barrier for healthcare institutions.
