Details

Under the leadership of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Taiwan is promoting medical reform utilizing digital technology. This initiative, called 'Healthy Taiwan Initiative,' aims to improve the quality and efficiency of medical services by leveraging big data, AI, and cloud technologies. A national platform, the 'Framework 3-3-3,' has been established, which integrates various healthcare systems, data exchange standards, and AI management centers. Currently, over 400 hospitals use electronic medical records, and high interoperability between different institutions is ensured through the international standard FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources). Specific applications include a primary care platform that uses AI for chronic disease risk prediction, and the MediCloud system, which provides real-time access to patient records. Furthermore, 'My Health Bank' is used by over half of the population, encouraging preventative health management by integrating data from wearable devices. The use of AI technology is also advancing; 19 national AI centers monitor safety, and over 50 medical AI products have already been approved. These efforts demonstrate Taiwan's effort to establish itself as a leading digital health hub in Asia.
