Cuviva and Philips Expand Global Cooperation to Advance Connected Transitional Care

Cuviva, a Swedish platform provider, announced the expansion of its global cooperation with Philips to deliver transitional care solutions spanning from hospital admission through recovery at home. This collaboration builds upon their previous joint selection to support Hospital at Home services at Karolinska University Hospital and Region Stockholm. Global health systems face pressures from workforce shortages and rising chronic disease burdens, leading patients to expect care closer to or in the home. Cuviva and Philips emphasize that this requires moving beyond episodic monitoring toward continuous, longitudinal visibility of the patient across all care settings. Cuviva's platform is built on open standards like HL7 FHIR and openEHR, designed to aggregate, structure, and contextualize data from multiple sources (in-patient monitoring, wearables, hospital IT systems) into a coordinated framework without vendor lock-in. The expanded cooperation integrates Philips’ patient monitoring portfolio with various best-in-class wearable biosensor technologies (e.g., Respiree, smartQare). This allows health systems to maintain data governance while selecting optimal devices. Cuviva's CEO stated that this combination enables health systems to deliver coordinated, connected care from hospital to home using an open, interoperable model, ensuring that the healthcare provider retains full control and governance over their patient data and technology choices.
